In May 2011 The Elm Tree Inn was taken over and is now owned by Debbie Hughes and Jamie Walker who also own a fish business , The Portland Scallop Co.  Jamie, a  former commercial and scallop diver sources dived scallops mainly from West Bay and other local fish and fresh sefood which are put on the specials boards. The company has won two Taste of TheWest gold awards for  the scallops and the best overall fish category. Portland crab, rope-grown mussels, lemon sole, plaice and sea bass and many more fish and shellfish feature on the menu when available.

Everything is home cooked and as much produce  as possible is locally sourced. Local game is also a speciality with rabbit and game pies  also on the boards, Other home made pies include steak and ale, cottage pie and of course fish pie. Also usually available is liver with  smoked crispy bacon, ham egg and chips, deep fried squid rings with sweet chilli sauce and home made liver pate with brandy and onion jam.  All our steaks and beef for the pies come from  Longhorn cattle reared in Abbotsbury.
